How hard is it to change out your leafsprings for a coil suspension?

 

That would be a link of work because you would be 3 linking the rear at least.

 

Yeah i figured it wasnt worth the time just figured Id ask, I dunno if my trucks getting older or if my roads are getting worse but it's a rough ride here in st louis

Im not a fan gabirel shocks. I put them on my truck a couple years ago and i cant wait to replace them next week.

 

What kind are you gonna use?
guess there different on a 4x4, but these are super smooth.

 

im putting ranchos on. it feels like the gaberiels are either already wornout or they are to soft for me.

 

Just my two cents. I feel that shocks are more of a personal preference. However, most new shocks, regardless of brand are going to feel stiffer than one that has 100k miles of wear and tear on it. I put Monroe sensa-tracs on my ranger a few months back, took away the body roll and the nose diving during braking. And the "shakes" that would happen over bumps went away as well. The bad thing is, the initial jolt when going over bumps seems a bit harsher than it was previously. Almost got rid of them, but they have softened up considerably.Heard some people love them and some people hate them. Also paid less than $100 for all four monroes and installed them myself.

To the person who wanted Ranchos: these shocks are made by the same company as Monroe, which is Tenneco I believe. Good shocks, but many folks find them too stiff. I've heard they are a rebadged monroe reflex, but don't qoute me on that.
