Flex Fuel

Uh. A while ago someone told me that my truck wasn't flex fuel, but I was almost certain it was.
And I was right

Who else has a flex fuel?
And who actually uses different fuel with it?

E85 is a waste of time and money it burns faster than regular gas. You may be saving money casue it is cheaper but your gonna be filling up more.

Mines flex-fuel, but I've never even seen E85 at any station around here, so I've never used it.

Mine is FF as well, but I've heard too many bad things about it. I'll stick to my mid-grade.

My dad uses it all the time in his tahoe... but at the smart station its still around $2 a gallon so

EDIT: The smart station is an ethanol plant owned pump station (credit card only type) and its like 1/4 mile down the road from the plant.

gas currently is 3.29 a gallon regular
E85 is 2.89

I could see someone wanting to save the extra money, but there just gonn end up spending more since it burns faster

I have run it in my truck for about the last year and a half or so. Yes you do lose mileage, but I ran the numbers and I lose approximately 2 mpg using E85. If it is cheap enough I can come out ahead, but usually by only a penny or so per gallon. So if E85 is 75 cents cheaper or so I come out a little ahead, just have to keep track and see when it is no longer cost effective.

Florida is one of a handful of states that currently prohibit retailers from selling fuel containing more than 10 percent ethanol to the general public.

However, a push is being made in Tallahassee to change the regulations and allow the sale of fuel containing 85 percent ethanol, called E85.

I have it aobut 20 miles from me, inconvenient, and I would end up filling up and paying more, getting 2mpg or less than I am now...only 3.29 compared to 3.69 regular

actually there is a e85 station in Tallahassee, there is also one in Lakeland. I've filled up on the Tallahassee one but its not cheap enough here to be worth it.
