mpg question

ok so i have a completely stock 3.0, it has 49k on the engine, i change fluids regularly, but i cant seem to get more then 20mpg on the highway. i also got new tires and they're 31's and its even worse.

i want to keep the tires but any ideas for better gas mileage? im on a highschoolers budget so its not much.

any help appreciated!

thanks,
chris

I've hit as high as 24 on the highway.

3.0, auto, 31's.

City though.. I'm rocking an avg 13 mpg.

HEY another 'Nati guy.

I hate to tell ya, but your SOL. A tuner will be your best bet, but on a budget your gonna hate the price.

Highest I've EVER got was a 100% all highway 20mpg.

You get worse mileage with the gate down. The gate helps create a high pressure area behind the cab that allows air to just flow over the bed.

it was a 95 with 2wd gearing changed and a lot of lightening. also had some head work so it had a little more power than stock.

Best suggestion is either ditch the larger tires and get a tuner for MPG reasons or buy a cheap Honda.
