i just picked up a cherry bomb turbo last night and it really sounds no different than w/o a muffler. the only thing i could think of is it may be on backwards. imma let it cool qown and ill go reverse it and see what happens. but ive heard turbos on rangers and its nothing like mine. any other possibilites????....clogged cats?....maybe drive alot and let carbon build up?? also i heard about dumping gas in the muffler and it burns all the fiberglass or something out instantly and sounds better??? anyone??

 

Im not sure.. But carbon build up would only quiet the truck more, wouldn't it?

You would have to cut them off and put a pipe in the place of the cats. There should be an o/r aftermarket "midpipe" you can get instead of hacking the stock one. If not you'll need to use the stock one but if you do either pipe your gonna get a CEL and fail emissions. I know sct and diablosport had tuners to turn off the CEL for that reason (I have one) but I think the EPA got on them to remove that part from the tuner. You can also get mil's (cheaper route) for the 02 sensors to fool the cpu and make it think it has cats if the tuner cant turn off the CEL.

The sound won't change at all without cats.

 

You get what you pay for, you cheapened out, and glasspacks sound like garbage anyways buy a real muffler like a flowmaster or something, loud doesnt sound cool really from a little v6 like a nice muffler does.

I was looking up the Cherry Bomb Turbo and it's a reversible design.

 

i did the same thing. after about a week i was driving by a mustang with exhaust and tried to dip my throttle, and it wasn't even audible. Right then i pulled into a parking lot, took it off. and been running without it since. It doesn't sound too bad just running through the cats

 

give it some time. when i got my flowmaster on it was a few weeks and then it sounded deeper.
