Insurance News

I know some of you don't give a cr@p, so don't post. But, for those of you that do, I recieved news from the adjusters yesterday that they have just authorized the repairs on my truck. They have sent Brett (shop-owner at STS Transmissions, yes he is a tranny guy but a certified FoMoCo mech.) a check not covering my deductible but he will start on it next week. Here are the major things that are being done to her:

Radiator and radiator support
Tranny cooler
Header panel
Lines and clamps/hoses, etc.
Grille and surrounding pieces (billet grille being put in, not stock)
New bumper being built with 1.75"x.120wall mild steel with skidplate
Frame straightened (from jumping out at Pismo, but they're fixing it anyway)
Fender supports
New hood
Painting to match the ENTIRE front and maybe rear end, so I won't be sporting the white fenders anymore

That's it for now, and I'm getting my King 2.5"x16" smooth body reservoir shocks next month so I'll be able to get some testing pics for you guys when I get out to the dunes.

I'm proudly running my stock shocks. Black shocks are the best 'cause they're black like no other and stuff!

I have to have a few things re-adjusted on the cage before I can take it out though. Currently the lower rear bedside mount is binding on the shackles at about 6" of travel so we need to relocate that and put some finishing touches on it. Here's what it needs to be completed for now:

License plate tabs
Amber lights
Brake line
Bumps
Spare tires need to be mounted to my spare rims and tied down
Shocks

And hopefully this summer I'll be able to put on:

32 gallon Jaz/Fuelsafe fuel cell (with plumbing finished)
Race jack
Tool chest and holder
Misc. crap

From December to this summer the engine cage is being built and we're running dual 2.5"x10" Kings on either side, upgrading the torsion bars, plating the lower arms, bumping the lower arm, gusseting the upper mounts, heimed steering, subframe, and other random stuff. It's getting there slowly, but surely!

Also forgot, the truck should be done in 2-3 weeks!

First weekend I have her back we're going out, bonfire and all. Nothing hard, just gotta work her in and see if the shocks need to be re-valved or not.

I was thinking about it, but it's cheaper and easier this way. I'm not really ready for a one-piece until I get LT, but it still would be nice!

I was only going 15, so it surprised me a little bit that it could do so much.

Cass, it's not like I expected/planned for it to be this way, it just hapenned like this and insurance/our shop is working with us well (albeit not speedy) on it and getting things done, which I am very thankful for.
