2003 Ford Mustang

I talked to the guy and he said hes gonna think about it and get back to me. It would be a straight trade for my ranger. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't get a mustang if you drive in the snow a lot. One of the WORST vehicles for driving in snow. This is coming from a mustang owner.

At least it's a 4wd truck and not a V6 car. I just have hatred towards cars...I just plain dont' like them unless they have some power.

 

I agree v6 mustang is ghey. If that was a GT i would have said GO FOR IT. but for a V6 nfw.

also Sure... now why is that ...what happened that it needs "painted" and ya know what woulda been nice too? How about showing the "Right rear quarter panel" instead of just the good side. Nice way to be slim shady.
Man, I HATE it when these dicks try to sell a car that way. buddy, you never got around painting it cause it either would have cost too much to do it properly or you are just supremely lazy also.. if lazy is a yes, then say hello to 20k oil changes and brakes that get done when your wheels turn rust color.

I bet his idea of "I have paint for it" is a rattle can from autozone .. forget it. keep your truck.

 

any of those earlier V6's that tossed a head gasket were NOT able to just get new gaskets and be on their way. the bottom end of those suckers were very unforgiving. talk about holding a grudge lol. within 2 months it will throw its bearings at you.

ALSO... is it just me or do the 99-04 V6's sound like they have a perma exhaust leak? as factory oem equipment?

 

Yeah the V6 is slow, other than that ours isn't that bad. Your definitely shouldn't buy it with speed in mind though, it is pretty pathetic.

 

Okay you guys who say v6 stangs suck need a lesson. The OLD v6's suck, but the new 2011's are total badassary. with 305hp you cant go wrong no matter the motor.

Dude. We are talking about pre-04 3.8 L V6s. Not 2011s. No sh*t they are badass. It's 20 frikin' 11, the height of the 2nd Coming of American Muscle Cars. Where the supercharged replaces the big block and stricter emission laws threatening V8s are right around the corner. Just like Carter in 1972 and the Clean Air Act. Now it's 2011 and the Obama-kills-America Act.

i had a v6 stang and traded it for my ranger.....never looked back.I was young and enjoyed it but every day i drove that thing i wished it was a gt.

 

come on.... we are talking 2003's not 2011's

also if we were talking 2011's ya the new v6's do kick a whole lotta ***, BUT NOT compared to the 2011 5.0 that'd be like comparing a 2.3L ranger vs a Level II not even close to being the same thing.

I'll be pissed if they put MORE restrictions on vehicles but it's not gonna make me vote against him. I still think he will do a bunch in another 4 years. This time I can actually vote though!!

 

Thanks for all your guys comments. Im really not looking for tremendous speed, im looking at mileage. I think the best parts about tradin would be less rust, newer year and 25k less miles.

Cons are the v6 and loss of 4x4.

I commute to college everyday and the truck is killing me. I wouldnt even be looking into getting a car if i could afford the gas.

 

good luck with what ever you do. personally, I would certainly not be looking at a mustang for what you need - gas milage and a safe winter car though lol

 

Mustang gas would be right around 15-20mpg. Probably not that much of an improvement.


I don't know how your finances are but maybe you could go get a 4 banger Ranger or something? Or even a manual Focus. Just a better for around town?
