My Damn Steering Pump!

Ok guys here the question. I snuck out of my house last night ( i know not cool ) Ok well anyway i never EVER sneak out of my house, but i gotta call worth doing it for (wink wink) well i pushed my car out of my driveway and i had to turn the wheel all the way to the right so i could turn it out of my driveway and down the street. Well i finally got down my street enough to start it and drive off...........WELL thats when it started......The pump wines like a B**** and its jumpy and shaky. Its really pissin me off because its never happened b4 and i think the power steering motor might be shot......any ideas guys. thanks.

haha, this is funny because i just went through the same thing. Having to move it without starting it and i had the same problems. I had a power steering pump put in for $100 and $40 labor so in the end i didn't have the truck for a day and $140 later i was on the road.

So it shouldnt be the motor, just the pump...

Don't drive it until you can take it to get it fixed because when the rest of your power steering does go out... you'll know it!

Do you keep up with the fluid level? It'll do the same thing if it's low on fluid.

One particular problems most Fords have: the power steering pumps really suck.
