My epic escape from a closed quad trail with only 2x4

So my buddy just got a 90something V6 Dakota 4x4, has never done off-roading but wants to get into it. So I agreed to show him some trails in our area, which is Northern Quebec. I was planning on stay on easy trails because my my pinion baring is currently ceased and I only have 2x4. After about 45 minutes of him following me through some pretty easy terrain and trails we arrived at a trail I had completed many times by dirtbike but never by truck. My buddy was pressuring me to take the trail, I knew better but felt obliged to show him a good time, I`ve been stuck with 2x4 for a while now and am confident in my techniques of driving with only 2x4, you basically just keep your momentum up and give gass in the holes. So we continued about a mile down this trail with me leading the way. What I didnt count on was that he would get stuck, I should have realized that he was a noob and this would happen. I knew turning around, losing all momentum in 1-2 feet of mud would be questionable but I had no choice but to try and get him out. No luck...whats more was that I was stuck too now. So I made a call and before long my buddy arrived with his F150 Fx4, he would have to reverse into the trail because there was a marsh on one side and a creek inside a 6 foot ditch on the other. We had gone about half a mile down the trail in reverse when I told him to hope out and have a look at the coming terrain, he doesnt have mud tires so we agreed it was too greasy for him to pass.

I began to realize the gravity of the situation, I hadnt really noticed how terrible this trail was while going down it, sure enough I made another call and my other buddy came with his turbo deisel 4-runner he was able to pull the dakota and the F150(which did eventually get stuck while leaving) out with no problems. However he was completely unable to get to me only 50ft further down the trail due to a large water hole, that I have no idea how I got through. We had with us atleast 6 tow straps, 1 strong-chain, 2 come alongs, 4 traction aids, 2 metal spades, we spent 2 days toying and trying to either set up another vehcile to pull me, or free mine turn it around and set me up with enough momentum that I would be able to leave the way I came, after a few efforts of trying to pass back the way I came and getting stuck even worse each time, at about 3pm the next day I decided to go for the extreme. To the left of my truck was the ditch with the creek with train tracks on the other side. I mentioned earlier but directly beside there was a small break in the creak, the floor was only about 1ft and a half deep, the creek was inside a 6 or 7 foot ditch the but I had done inclines like that before. I thought if I could acquire speed while rolling down, I could get enough speed, momentum, and traction to conquer the inverse 6 foot gravel hill. I was growing very tired and frustrated at this point, and remember thinking If I do get on those train tracks it`ll be the best drive of my life, I was incredibly wrong.

After careful aiming with the come along the truck was positioned to go for it. I chugged a beer, and had a smoke and psyched myself up for the move. With my two buddies in teh back pushing I started heading down the hill when I saw my front was in the clear for the climb I gunned it. I began climbing out of the ditch well enough, because of the large gravels traction. As I climbed i slid sideways as well not quite climbing full speed but enough, but only my front right wheel hopped the train track rail. So I hit the brakes and waited, I figured we would work on getting the rest of the truck up the hill and continue normally. I looked at my buddy to see if he was on the same page as me and I will never forget his face, then I heard what he was hearing, WOOOOOOMMM WOOOOOOM. ****ing train, I immidiately thought about reversing straight back, but I could not because having slid to the left while climbing I had passed the break in the creek which was now about 3 or 4 feet deep behind me. So I did what any man would I do gunned it again, i couldnt get my rear right wheel over the track rail, but I was moving, drifting kind of on the gravel so I continued like that I hadnt look at which way the train was coming from yet but I floored it, luckily it was coming from behind. I had about a mile to do sideways on the side of teh hill, front wheel over the train tracks, if I hesistated I would be in the creek which was more like a river really..after almost hitting a deer I made it to where the tracks intersected a road and turned off, I wont mention how close the train was to where I turned off, but the conducter had slowed the train and was yelling at me as it passed.

Dont go off-roading without 4x4..

Thank you!

But how do you know the train was slowed down? If it was slowed down I would be surprised if you didn't get the cops called or something.

He got stuck in 2wd, drove across a creek/ditch with some momentum and onto a set of train tracks. Right as he did, he and his buddy heard a train coming, he had 1 tire on the tracks, so he floored it and climbed 2 more tires on to the tracks and he ended up driving it like that for about a mile to an intersection where he just hopped on the road and the conductor yelled at him as he passed.

The end.

Edit: Damn you Josh!!! lol

damn there are some huge holes n this story. you say at one point you were trying to pull your truck out for two days then the next it is only the next day and it is out? and i know you did not make it down a trail that was 1-2 feet deep mud. there is no way in 2wd. even 4x4 you would be spinning all the way down to get through. maybe in water

don't illegal wheel. (your truck on a closed quad trail)
don't drink and drive.
stay off the tracks.

just so you know, Most of our trucks are monster trucks.
and heres my logic:
In my truck, Theres parts from 3 different rangers, (93xlt, 964x4, 98ext) and 2 differnet Expos (97 sport, 96 xlt)
A Franken-truck if you will.

since morris posted one. i will too.
