no clue what motor it even is, and motor swaps in my county must be out of a vehicle the same year or newer. nothing older.

That push rod motor I don't think was offered an Eaton...

Seeing as how the intake is towards the rear of the motor, it screams 3.0.... And the only company I know of making x-chargers for the 3.0's was whipple...

That motor definitely screams 3.0... Not a newer 4.0 because of the body style.. Gen 3 for sure...

Although it does look a lot like an Eaton...

well yeah, but i know you could probably swap in an sohc into that gen ranger.

For the money, a 5.0L would be better and cheaper and produce way better results.

I'd guess 4.0 OHV with the old BBK supercharger kit.

^^That's what I was gonna say. Could be the old BBK kit that was out there for 4.0 OHV's a long while ago.

It's hard to tell because it's got a paper shredder and piping ontop of everything. lol. It's DEF not the Whipple kit that I know 100%. lol.
