My project

Im currently in the process of changing my slave cylinder.Were having a bunch of fun with it.jk heres some of the pics.Ill update more when we put it all back together.Step by step.

Ya i know the ropes to help lower the tranny out is kinda ghetto but it works.

so thats what it looks like!!! i had mine replaced at a shop cuz it blew when i was wheelin. now i got a whole new LUK clutch kit.

are there no other options than the ford(obviously a pos)replacement?

Just got mine done at Ford also while they had the engine out and replaced the clutch.

the clutch kit i got from LUK came with a new slave cylinder for my truck.

how much did you get that for?I payed $31 just for the slave.

the kit was $250ish i believe, plus installion came to $1100!!!!

WOW!!! I definently would not have had it done.Its all done now and it took only about 2 and half hours of my time.If you had done it yourself in some spare time, it would only cost you 250$ saving 1100 towards something else you want.

I'd do it myself before i'd pay anywhere near that much, but thats because I dont have that much money, but i'd still do it myself anyways.

It was that quick? of course there isn't much to do, but the tranny being heavy would be the hardest part getting it down and back up in place. I think my brother paid about 400-500 bucks to get the slave replaced in his ranger a few years ago.

Mine was free since everything was already removed for the engine swap =]

The dealer didn't tack on any labor charges other than flywheel resurfacing. I got no charge labor on the clutch, slave, and pilot bearing

yea except i didnt have the time, i didnt know how so it would have taken longer, and i needed it done cuz it was my truck i used to get to work.
