They look pretty, make more noise and suck $$ out of your wallet.

No performance gain.

Look for something that encloses the filter in a box. Volant has a nice setup but they only work on the 01 through 03 models. K&N makes a good product but there is no shielding to keep engine heat away. The higher the intake temp the less power you will make if you didn't know. Also you will gain power from an intake but you won't gain anything you can feel. When combined with other performance parts the intake will help more. I'd save for a nice catback exhaust and not a exhaust shop mess.

Save your cash. Only one I would ever put on would by a Volant though. Theres much more ways to spend your money performance wise though.

Volant OR a Roush Box with a custom steel intake pipe. Hands down, my best intake setup i've ran. I love it.

They do increase power. But IMO you'll need at least an aftercat and you'll need to be up over 4000+ rpms. If your not interested in both of those.. put the moeny elsewhere.

K&N is OK, I have them. You should just go to www.stuffforyourranger.com and see what is up there, cheaper probably. If you get an intake, you need to get an exhaust...otherwise no real point. You do get some performance, but as far as emissions go...it is only the beginning of things you need to look at to squeeze out more HP.

It's completely reversible, it would take like 5 minutes to return to stock.. (Removing the silencer, that is, not cutting a hole in the airbox.)

as long as you can get the box out of those stupid grommets in the first place. Nearly gave myself a hernia in the process.

I didn't notice anything from removing my snorkel, just more noise.

That's because more air is being let in.

Its funny how alot of you dont think intakes work.

Ford made a Ranger in 2002 with a 4.0L SOHC that pushed 222 hp. An exhaust and intake were installed to reach these figures.
