Just keep an eye out for an affordable truck, even if it's an older model. Then sell that thing as it is. If it isn't what you want or like, don't waste any cash on it. (I would spring for some masking tape and a spay bomb to paint the door jambs though, especialy if you plan to resell it, appearance makes all the difference. Some polish on the headlight lenses wouldn't hurt either, they look a bit yellowed.
I've seen some decent buys for less than 2k, I just bought another '94 for under a grand and it runs and drives great with ice cold air and a 5 speed. An older truck saves a bundle on the insurance as well.

thanks guys on the directional thing. got that fixed.. and im not plannin on droppin any money into it minus the paint on the door jams, engine bay, and trunk for like 100 bucks. thanks guys
