Ok I needed a new mirror for it do to the stupid kid hitting a pole. also the door is dented as you can see here i was just going to fix it when i did the body work BUT i got REALLY luck at the Junk Yard!!!!!!!


ok I found at the junk yard a ORANGE Splash just like mine and the passaneger door was already off it in the bed it has the power window and mirror i need and it is not dented at all!!! also got all the new vents i need for the truck and mine. ALSO scored a OHC in GREAT shape and also got the Temp sensor(the mounting bracket is snaped on behind it) and got a new power window switch the one in the splash is broken






now the best part all the parts at the junk yard the guy wanted $250 for just the DOOR.....i got all this for just $200 for EVERYTHING...god i love it!!!


also got a new battery at Sears for my XLT and I am taking out my battery in the XLT and putting it in the splash for now.

 

damn, you are a lucky sob. Wish i had that kind of luck at JY's.

 

Ya i nearly shat myself when i saw the splash!! still didnt get all i wanted i need a front and rear painted bumper and new hood but its getting there!

 

Maybe i missed the thread, but what exactly are you doing to it to make it a "project"? lift - lower?

 

droped 2/3 from what it is now. mustang bullitts 17x9front 17x10.5rear, 5.0L, C4, repaint it, line locks, probly mustang scoop because its easy to put on now lol, and tint it and drive the **** out of it

Ive got plenty junkyards around here, but none of them have what i want most of the time, and sometimes have what i need.

Great find boss, but shouldnt you be working on your truck like 24/7? We're expecting it to be doen as fast as you xlt was fixed!!

ah yes figured someone was going to pic up on the auto thing...few reasons why i am leaving an auto
A) less $ in the long run because i dont have to convert the truck to a manual petals and all
B) alot nicer with line locks and smokey burn outs lol
C) MUCH more consistant E/T times in bracket racing(yes I am going to beat the snot out of it..)
D) alot nicer to have an auto at woodward dream cruise or anything like that, a stick kills my leg in those cruises....


now about parts, all the trucks body panels where striped MINUS the door i was lucky...if there is anything important you need shoot me an email

that's awesome that you found the door in the paint code you needed! junkyards are like great easter egg hunts for grown ups! i think i wanna go up the street to the one near me to see if they have anything for the hell of it. (even though they seem to have everything but ford most of the time)

 

your lucky only luck i'v had was with a dana 60 he wanted 50 bucks for it lol....anyway projects looking good bet i'll beat ya to the 5.0 swap! lol j/k
