Hello everyone. Found this site while searching for info on converting my 96 2WD ranger to a 5.0. I picked this up a month ago for $500. Running driving truck, 2.3 5 speed. The drivers door is dented for a run in with a skid loader, but, otherwise its a clean truck.




I am going to drive this as a daily for some time. I plan to accumulate the needed V8 conversion items, and give this to my son as a father and son project.

I had also considered running a turbo 2.3. I will do some more reasearch on that as a possiblity. With the price of gas, a 2.3 turbo might not be a bad idea. Are the engines/transmissions from the turbo t-bird a good candidate for a swap?

Any info/links on a swap are appreciated.

Nice looking truck! I know there is no replacement for displacement, but something about that 2.3 turbo intrigues me.
