New ranger owner, first mod suggestions?

Hi there my first post here.

I just purchased a 2004 fx4 level II (automatic) I prefer std but the price I got this truck for was awesome i couldnt pass it up. She's in great shape with low km's and I am wondering if anyone could point me to a few things I may want to change right off the bat, or watch out for as far as maintenance is concerned.

So far this weekend I have 2 appointments scheduled:

-Getting box liner and under coat sprayed in using Line-X
-trailer hitch, remote start and sunroof installed

I will probably be looking at a small lift next, and I already saw the thread for suggestions in the suspension forum...but I am in no hurry on this one, not going to be doing any hardcore offroad n the next little while, but likely at some point in the future.

Also i was thinking baout getting leather heated seats put in, does anyone have experience with katzkins leather products?

Go for a 3 inch Body Lift ($120) and some 33's with new wheels. $1200

Difference for under $1500

Welcome!

Put some undercoating on your frame & suspension, you'll thank me in 5 years.

Welcome to r/f. What kind of tires do you have? 1st upgrade good tires.

Make sure to post pics of your sunroof install, don't see that mod very often.

IMO...if you want a little more performance..... Underdrive pulleys w/ the overdrive alternator pulley and a Performance Tuner. Those two are the best bang for the buck.

Hmm thats a sweet lift for 1200 bucks, might have to go for it.

Can you explain those two performance mods further?

Undercoating is going un the bottom of the truck as well, wheel wells, everything so that should take care of the rust im hoping.

Ill be sure to post the pics once i get the sunroof installed, its a webasto electric one guy is gonan do it for me 1000 installed which i think is not a bad price.

Welcome to the site. An exhaust would be a relatively cheap, but nice mod to do.

since it seems like you don't have too much of an issue dropping a grand here and there.

go for a suspension lift and body lift at the same time, then you can be mega tall and run 35s or 37s.

37s are cooler! 35s a good all around tire as long as your nice to the skinny pedal.

35's on a daily?

Not worth the extra wear and tear on the front end for a daily driver.

Ain't nothin' wrong with 35's on a daily... Ive not needed any front end replacing and i've got 40k on my 35's... I do need new outer TRE's because well...the truck has 110k on it. lol. I put BJ's on it at 70k since it needed it and who gets more than 70k on BJ's anyway? Wheel bearings have never made a peep and they are the stockers(110k).
