Icon4 Need Help!!!

Today I was trying to setup two 150 watt lights in my truck. They turned on fine the very first time, but the next time I tried to turn on my truck (without the lights) everything was dim. My left headlight is very dim, but the right one is fine. My left blinker will not work, and when i try to do it all i hear buzzing. My right turn signal light on the dash will not turn off, but it does flash. Also the speedometer doesnt even work. Finally my O/D light is flashing. Could this be a drained battery?

Can anyone help???

What did you wire your lights to? did you use the proper relay and everything?

Sounds like you wired them strait into your headlight wire or something...

Could be battery / alt... but even with a good battery and alternator, and the correct wiring, anytime i turn on my KC 150 watters it drops my battery meter down some

now it wont shift, and I have an automatic. I took the wiring off the battery completely, but when it was on everything had fuses and relays. the blinking od stoped, and at one point everything seemed fine but than it all started again.

if you've wired the lights corectly and used proper fuses and relays, your truck should not be acting this way, with or without the lights being on. but, if it were wired wrong, the fuse would blow... sounds like a job for one of our "electrical" experts out there. ANYONE?? ANYONE??

Well if you followed the basic instructions that should have come with the set, then you had several connections that had to be made.
1. Control circuit…Dash Switch, usually made to light up when on. Power would have been needed. Where did you tap for power?
2. Light Power…Relay feed from power tap, usually done at battery. Where did you take power from to feed the relay?
3. Where did you make or tap into any grounds?

Did you try to use any part of the factory lighting circuit during the install? Did you smell anything funny like something getting hot or burning after your first attempt to use them?

Not knowing exactly what you might have tap into electrically or might have pinched during the install makes it kind of hard to say.

All my connections were made new, I used nothing that was existing. For example, I made entirely new grounds, all into the frame of the truck. I did not tap into the headlights at all, I wired them as off road lights, right back to the battery.

Strange turn of events...

i am no longer having power issues at all with anything.

However it will still no longer go past first gear and the CEL light came on.

Very confused, how could this have effected my tranny?

The PCM uses the speed sensor input to determine shift points - the same signal that drives the speedometer.

Either this is just coincidental to you installing the lights and was going to happen anyways or you must have either knocked something loose or cut or tap into something in the dash or in the engine compartment that you shouldn’t have.

Stop and think:
1. Where did you take power for the dash switch (and ground if used)…what did you tap for its power?
2. How and where did you mount the switch…did you drill or cut into the dash?
3. Where did you run the wire through the firewall…did you unplug any wiring or knock any connectors loose?
4. Go back over all your wiring and mounting and look for any pinch wiring or cut or unplugged connectors.
