No more Mercury Blues

So after 72 Years Mercury is no longer making cars...

Figured it was odd when one of the local long time Lincoln Mercury dealers closed down and a New Lincoln Dealer opened as the exclusive local Lincoln Dealer.

Mercury Luxury Cars & SUVs | MercuryVehicles.com

Cant go downtown and buy a Mercury or Two anymore.

Although the Mercury Mountaineer has been phased out, have you considered a Ford Explorer?

I never see any Mercurys around here anyways..

wow, so me posting that picture, and you mentioning the grille made me think of something. last year, I was going to work, and I was with my dad in his f250. he had a ball in the hitch because he never takes it out.. right in front of the job, is a four way stop. my dad stopped, and then proceeded. here comes a car, that I could swear was a mercury now that I recall, ran the stop sign, and right into my dads hitch. jarred my dads truck barely, and the guys grille didn't even break or anything. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. completely off topic, but I'm 99% sure it was a late 70's, early 80's marquis.

It was when a car was more than a car. It was a fast gas guzzling bullet proof Tank

this is old news, they planned this last year or the year before. why have 2 or 3 of the same car? GM did this and look where it got them. same with dodge.

it's good they did away, they were an "old car image" and with the direction that ford is going, they don't need that image anymore. they are aiming for the younger generation. even GM that has buick is doing this. buick is another "old car image." and you are seeing more new age gadgets like sync or driver interface systems.

yeah who gives a **** ford makes equivalent models to all of their current offerings, furthermore none of you fanboys seemed to make any noise when they stopped making b series mazdas.

Although a sidenote, i remember seeing a milan commerical that showed the car was a stick ... was the fusion also offered as such?

No biggee, why have 2 brands that have the same vehicles when you can just have the one and offer more luxurious packages. ie) Lincoln Mark LT was phased out and the F-150 got the Platinum package

yea, the 4 banger was a offered with a stick shift. my buddy had a first gen that was stick.

he traded for a newer one and i was surprised when he said it was a 4 cylinder. the thing has leather, heated seats, moonroof and some other hi end stuff. however this one is an auto.
