I'm debating on lifting and getting 33s and a new hood for my ford ranger possibly even a sun roof. However, i'm also debating on simply buying a used newer truck Chevy Colorado or a Tacoma around 08-10, and maybe even a jeep.

I like my ford ranger I haven't had any problems with it. It has 63k miles and is a 2000 model. Great condition but im not sure if it may just be better buying a newer vehicle. What is your opinion? Thanks.

 

As long as your aware that any miss you do to your current truck you most likely will not get back I would say mod your current ride. Now if your looking to personalize it and two years later sell it for an outrageous amount because you personalized it... No. Between wife and I we have four vehicles one being the ranger. Will drive it until it croaks. I like having an option in what to drive. We have two beaters two new vehicles, makes it handy when working on one to have another to drive if miss or repairs take whole. Hope my rambling helps.....

 

do you need more room or capacity? i did hence why i bought a bigger truck. if your truck is running fine and it fits you just fine i would keep it. unless you just want something new, then why not.

 

the newer tacomas are a badass truck. might be my next truck in a few years.

 

only reason to upgrade that i can see is to a larger truck, as in fullsize.

If I go away from Ford it would be a Toyota, not a Chevy !

The Taco’s are nice, there is no way around that, but if I had a Ranger and it is in good working order then I would keep the Ranger.
I do not see any BIG gain by going to the Taco unless you need a new truck for what ever reason and can’t find another Ford.
