Has anyone ever had their vehical wrapped before? There is a company that wants to wrap my nissan and I don't know how it works. I have seen them on business vehicals but I don't know if its something that wont do anything to my paint and is easy to get off.

Actually the general discussion forum is OK for this post. LOL Wraps cab be as expensive as a paint job depending what you want. Unlike paint the wrap company would have to either sell you a pre-designed wrap or if you wanted a one off design would have to digitize the colors, fonts, logo etc then produce the wrap. There are web companies that show designs & prices. Google vehicle wraps and you'll see that in the long run it may be better to paint!

A business wants to use my truck to advertise which they would wrap it. I wouldn't mind the ranger it needs a new paint job anyway but its the nissan they want to use for advertising.

Depends how much they wanna pay you for it lol. If its a few grand for a few months id do it lol. It should come off clean but idk. Id also have em possibly sign a paper saying if it does affect paint then they have to pay to repaint it.

I wish it was a grand. I wouldnt care and get both re-painted.

Honestly it's a good investment. From what I hear it protects the paint while it's on and it's free money just to drive around. I would make the the wrap isn't over the top though, my local company has a Geo Metro that's wrapped and looks like hell. I've been thinking about talking to them about wrapping my ranger for free advertising since I drive a lot.

How much are they wanting to pay you if you dont mind?

400 a month. Its a 2 yr contract. I would like to do it but not enough if I ruin my truck
There isn't much they can do on the top since I have a roof rack. My neighbor has his car done but its not a wrap its letters that are stuck to his car.

Hmm thats almost worth it IMO. I would definitly check out if it would do some damage first but I think itd be worth it. See if theyll do $500 a month lol or more. Then in 2 or 3 months, a new paint job would be paid for

I thought that also but not on the Armada. Reading the contract I don't see anything on the wrap and depending on the size of the vehical it can range from $ 200-600. My luck I do this which will b for 2 yrs and they go out of business and I'm stuck with advertising on my truck. I don't have the luck of the irish. somehow it skipped me.

heck yeah do it. who cares if they go out of business? you'll have like 10,900 after two years at 400 I would... how did you get hooked up with them?

The best thing to do is to take all that money you get and put it into savings and not touch it till the contract is over, of course if you don't need it. Even with interests rates as low as they are you can still make a little more money.

One of my customers told me about it. He can't do it because his truck is leased.

You can go online and locate businesses who are looking for people to advertise.

He can if he wants. I read on one of those "Vehicle Wrappers" websites that they wrap leased and rented vehicles all the time. They just take it off when your lease/rental is over

This guy wont let you get into his truck with shoes on. He washes and waxes all the time. He don't like his trucked touched he is a very odd individual....lol. Weather permiting he takes it out of his garage.

Kayak, canoe and fishing place. When go to work on Monday I can tell you cause the contract is in my mailbox at work. I'm having someone read the contract to make sure its legit.

Something smells fishy in my opinion. multiple people have asked, but the OP has always avoided the direct answer.

The co that wants the advertisement or who I work for? The co is Al's kayak & canoe's. I work in a library. Would of loved if it was Rita's. I'm sure they pay.

A few more things for you to consider:

After a couple of years, the paint where the vehicle isn't wrapped will definitely will be faded - factor that into your evaluation.

Vehicles that have had signage/letters on them, and then removed, always kind of stand out - in many cases, you can still see the outline of the advertising, if it isn't a full wrap.

Another thing: Will the advertising affect you in other respects - in other words, there goes your individuality - as far as anyone on the road is concerned, you and your vehicle will be an extension of the company advertising on it. E.g.,( Not saying that you would, but . . . ) If you speed, cut anyone off, do something stupid in traffic, Would the company hear about it? - sort of like the "How's My Driving? Call XXX-XXXX" signs on company vehicles.

Are you ready to be stopped and plied with questions about the advertising, that you may or may not be able/want to answer?

Are there clauses that specify that you must keep your vehicle in a certain condition (e.g., washed and cleaned, and how often, and who pays for this?), or that you may not park, be seen/in proximity to, certain venues/places that the company may find questionable?

Do you have to stay within a geographical area, or can you go on an extended road trip/vacation with the vehicle?

Any opinions of the company, good and bad, will default onto you, when you're driving, because for all intents and purposes, you are them on the road.

Are there any guarantees that the company is good for the deal, and that you won't be stuck for any costs (e.g. removal of wrap, fixing faded paint if applicable, etc.) if they don't come through?

I could probably think of a few more, but you get the general idea . . .

$400/month is a good chunk of change - goes a long way in replacing your out of pocket costs of gas and maintenance.

Basically up to you to decide if the payment is worth it - just a few points to think about.
