OHC WTF!!! need some help please

ok, going through installing my overhead console, it all works nice, but i dont have the wire mentioned to hook up the speed sensor, so what can i do? it says hook it to the grey w/ black stripe in the smart junction box on the pass side. My truck doesnt have this wire to connect to!

options?

also, my thermometer says its 18F outside, when its probably 65.

whats wrong here, and how do i fix it?

ive done all the resets, holding the mode button and all.

let me know the fixes for these problems if you know whats up! thanks!

Nate there should be a Grey/Black wire in the SJB, Now I have an '05 and mine was located next to the Parking brake in the main harness. Check there.

I think that's for older trucks. Mine is connected to a wire under the hood. I think I have a pic I can post up... I'll take a look!

Adam i think you hook yours up to the vss wire on the cruise plug. I guess Nate can use that one as well. I'm not sure what the colour code is for it tho.

Edit: Damn too slow....

I don't remember... it's on one of the wires on I think the passenger side of the 3 main bundles of wires at the firewall. I don't have the pic I thought I did... I can look tomorrow though if you want!

I'm going to pull up my Service manual and see where the wire is for you.

Nate you can use Pin 3 (GY/BK) on the cruise servo plug, Pin 52 (GY/BK) on the main harness(coming into the truck from engine) or Pin 68 (GY/BK) on the PCM Plug on the firewall. They are all GY/BK VSS wires, the easiest one to use is the one in the main harness inside the truck. All info pulled from the Ford Factory Service Manual.

Are you sure you have the correct sensor? What colour are the wires off of it?

Adam yours in Pin 3 (VT/OG) on the Cruise servo, Pin 1 (VT/OG) on the PCM Grey connector (middle?)
I was thinking the same thing about his sensor being bad/wrong.

I think you have the wrong temp sensor. I think you have the one for the ETAC, if i'm not mistaken the wires are red?!?

The one you need can look like that but mine didn't. The wires are Blue/Grey? and Blue/Yellow would be found on the explorer on the other side of the header panel. same place you found that one. If you can't get back to the JY I have an extra one here for the Extra OHC i got.
