97 Ranger Suggestions WANTED

I have a all stock 97 Ranger Extended Cab 4x4.

I have seen the front leveling coils from Rough Country and Tuff Country. Just wondering if anyone had used these to level there trucks out in the front? Do they work well and look good?

Also, if I was to do that, does anyone know If I can get away with putting 31x10.50's on it with a relatively stock set up?

I don't want to go crazy with this truck, I'm driving it every day. Just Something to make it a little more aggressive looking and no so stock..LOL

If anyone has done this and has pics of the LOOK, I'd love to check them out.

Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

Shane

my '97 Ranger 4wd extended cab came stock with 31x10.50x15 tires.....you don't need the leveling coils for those size tires....you have the same truck as me....

also, i would get the Skyjacker leveling coils.....they are a much better coil.....good rule of thumb to remember is that any lift over 2" on the TTB (Twin Traction Beam) Rangers, you MUST use drop brackets for the front....

Thanks for the reply, I like the look of your truck. Those new Black DC10's look killer on it.

So If I did the leveling coils, I would have to do more than just put them on and get it aligned? The say the coils are about 1.5 inches or something.

Did the 31x10.50's that came on your truck, rub at all? I just want to get this thing looking a little bit better, right now it has such a raked look to it.

thanks

with the leveling coils being roughly 1.5" of lift, all you will have to do is put them on and get it aligned.....anymore lift than that and you will need the drop brackets....

the 31x10.50x15 came stock on my truck.....they didn't rub at all on the stock wheels......

i think the leveling coils and the 31's will look good on there.....

can you post up some pictures of your truck as it is now?

Go get some skyjacker leveling coils and Skyjacker 0-2" shocks, you need longer one's then you will need an alignment..

after that your good to go up to a 32x11.5x15... 32's will rub on hard offroading and on the sway bar.. or just shack up with some 31's either way leveling it out will look better

yea but still wont have to get drop brackets.....i was going off stock coil measurements......if the stock coils are shot, then the truck will still be ~1.5" taller than stock...

well dur! with leveling coils only stating that they will give 1.5" of lift, common sense will tell you that you don't need new drop brackets

Thanks a lot guys, the conversation is great.

I do have some pics, but not really computer savy enough to post em up. I could email them to someone if you wanted?

I like the look of both of the trucks, with the 32's and 31's both look great.

Not like fuel economy is my number one concern, but just how bad did it hurt your economy to go from a stock little bitty tire to the 31's or 32's? I have a 5 speed if that helps get anyone any closer on an idea?

Again, the pics look great, and keep em coming.

Shane look at the sticker on the drivers door.......look under the "AXL" spot and tell me what it says.....it will be a 2 digit number or 1 letter & 1 number together....

I'll have to check that number here in a little bit. I'm not sure of the axle ratio, but it seems to have some pep to it.

Also, do any of you have cold air kits, and to you really see any benefits on our trucks?

And what other easy bolt ons work good for my year of truck?

I notice that there is a lot of newer trucks than mine on here, so I'm sure some of the mods and benefits are different.

thanks
shane
