is it the *** end hopping around on you? if it is its just the truck. all the trucks i driven are like that. get some james duff traction bars or a rear sway bar and itll stop a little.

I get the same thing with my '94, it's sprung pretty heavy and too light in the rear. It can almost change lanes when you hit a roll in the asphalt or a good bump. I've gone all over my front end and suspension, but it's really done it all it's life. It has only a front sway bar and a rear bar would help the cornering, but I doubt it would do much for the rear end bounce. (I had 1200lbs in it the other day and a 1100lb trailer behind it and it only sat about an inch lower in the rear), that also says something about the way it's sprung in the rear. It handles weight better than some full sized trucks I've had.
I didn't by this one new, but I'm assuming that its all factory original. It does ride a bit harsh, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice and payload capacity for a better ride. My GVW is labeled at 4700, and the payload rating is 1650.

My 03 does it. Not nearly as bad as my 94, but it still does it. Just about every "small" truck I've ever driven has done it.

From the day I bought it, my 03 has had far better rear axle control than any other Ranger I have owned or driven. I think most of the credit for the improvement goes to the Level II Bilsteins which are the best original equipment shocks ever available on a Ranger.

my truck did this before i got my jd traction bars.
like bob said, shocks also have alot todo with it.

and a sway bar keeps the back of the truck from "swaying"

What he said! My '84 and '91 used to go all over the place, especially on washboard type bumps. Sometimes I wondered if it actually spun all the way around and I just didn't notice. My '03 handles much better.
