Good info. Glad I don't have to worry about it, my truck's been out of warranty for awhile now.

 

and that is what i have been saying about warranties NOT being void because you put something aftermarket on your truck.....the companies have to prove that the modification caused the breakage of whatever part broke......

 

I wonder if Fred knows he's being quoted from another forum. I hope it remains in the context that it was intended to be and not changed for personal agenda.

 

Just putting a mod on won't do it, but is something breaks, and it's related
to the mod, the warranty is void........Interesting examples of how an underdrive pulley WILL void your warranty!!!!!

 

good info takeda was thinking of putting truetrac in the rear better what till warrenty is up just in case drive train has a prob.

i know i could take it to the dealer and have 1 put in but it prob wont have a prob but if something did go wrong it wouldnt be covered

I had a Ford part number installed by a Ford dealer with a Ford approved fluid and friction modifier. The dealer said it's considered a factory installation.

so if i have ford do the work and its a ford part it wont void my warrenty if so ill have to look in to it and have it dont but i dont wont a clutch or friction

 

it would of been so much better if i would have made sure it was ls when i got it but i thought it did have l s i printed out all the trucks i was looking at they all had ls except one well u must grabbed the print out of the one truck that had open diff went two the dealer with the vin it was the only one left it was just what i wontedso i got it the ls option is onl 300 bucks too so know it will prob cost twice that much now

Yea me too, I wish I had bought the truck with L/S but oh well it has it now and was worth every dime when I'm going up a steep rutted out, washed out dirt road in the middle of the Sonoran desert. The L/S will take you to places an open diff. wouldn't for sure. That's why modding my new truck doesn't matter to me. I'm making it the truck that suits my needs not sitting there saying "I wish I would have".

My 3.0 pulls mountain grades with ease running 31" tires. Gets 23 MPG. Offroad it's not a rock crawler but it gets me into the back places and valleys where the stock truck I bought couldn't. I could drive a grocery getter or a truck, I choose a truck.

 

looks like a 4x4 nice truck so the tration lock is 220 bucks labor must of been just under 500 bucks wow that sound a little high but it might be more or lass in ohio
i would like to get a t 2 put in if possible but there around 500 bucks so im looking at a grand

I went with a group about a month ago and the 4X4 guys with open diffs had problems with the steep trails. Not saying I was going to pass them but you could see one front and one rear spinning. I bet if you got the rear with a L/S it would make a night and day difference in your truck. You do take your 4X4 offroad don't you? Just asking, so many don't. My 2WD L/S spins both back tires but it really climbs.

 

nothing major theres not much around columbus as trails go just a few places where atvs run basiclly low level mud areas just enought to get some mud on the tires u could say for what im going to run open diff will be fine for me but if wells was still open i would go there this is a dd not a trail runner

 

Understood. Mine is a daily driver also so I have to be careful.

 

basically bought it for winter time so i might see how it does come winter time if i have any problems i will put a ls in the rear my girl friend says i dont need to get ls lol i think shes a little jealous of my truck she says im in love with it

well i talked to ford today about putting l/s in 2000.00 bucks didnt even ask if that was both front and rear

 

haha you should've told them they are idiots. 700$ is expensive IMO, it should be around $500.

I bought my truck stock with a limited slip though, so I win :-D

And I have 4wd...

 

I agree $700 is steep. Sorry I win 2WD and 23 mpg
