pesky headlight assembly on B4000

How the heck and what kind of tool do you need to get the headlight assembly out of a 05 B4000? Mine are not the same as the other threads and youtube videos where you pop up a couple of tabs. They have some kind of retaining clip but they are way too big for my ring clip pliers.

I am ready to go pay a body shop to take them out. I finally got the 3 retaining clips out of the drivers side light but it STILL would not come out. What am I missing and why is it so &$^# hard to get out a simple light?

there are 2 clips on top , the 3rd clip from the bottom is not meant to be removed

use a long flat blade screw driver and insert it down beside the top clip and push the screw driver handle toward the radiator support

with enough force , the headlight housing will pop free

After having still more trouble getting them out, I drove to a local body shop who popped them out in about 5 minutes (for free!). There is an additional clip near the top bezel which you can't see, that holds the lights in place. With force Iike cheese_man said, the headlight will pop free. Now to get the moisture out of them and reinstall.

I bought these specifically for those clips:

10" Circlip Pliers Set

$10 bucks saves a lot of frustration.

Thanks for the link. I have the smaller size circlip pliers but not ones big enough for these clips.
