Pic Request- Bumpers on 01+

Im wanting to get a bumper from an 01+ ranger, but not sure which one. Seems like there are several different valences, and with different fog light holes and stuff. Im wanting one that the ends are flush with the fenders....the ones that were designed for rangers without the factory fender flares. I've heard people say to get the edge bumper, but it lookes like the ends aren't flush with the fenders...im just confused. So if you want to, post pics of the 01 and up bumpers and tell what year, model (edge, 2wd xlt, 4wd...whatever) and if the ends are flush with the fenders.

There's various differences between models/years. Also note the hood differences, grille differences, and we all know the corner light differences. I'll let the pics do the talking. I had to scour all these pics, get 'em hosted, post 'em. Dang, someone give me a twinkie. or a gold star sticker, eh?

I think what he might be looking for is this one. It's on my 03 4x4 XLT without the fender flares.

Thanks alot Fx4wannabe01...it seems that the ones i'll be looking for is the 01-03 2wd bumper, and possibly the 4wd xlt.

Maybe. There is also another style that i've seen, although rarely. It looks like the one above, with the round foglight openings and lights, but the valance doesn't go up on the sides of the bumper. It goes straight back like this one:

I've seen a handful of them around. I think even the '03 brochure I have shows one w/ one like I'm describing: Straight back, ends of chrome bumper exposed, no wheel flares, and foglights. If I remember, the photo in the brochure was of an FX4 w/o fender flares. Anybody know for sure?

never seen one like that...what i have seen done before, is buying the bumper for the one that wraps all the way around and then buying the valance and cutting the tabs off...

never ever ever seen one like that. But....There are a few RPS members that have chrome 2wd XLT bumpers, with a modified EDGE valence. Looks alright.

Hey Mark,

I think your truck would look KILLER with a 04-05 Edge. Something about the all color matched, and the square fogs go with your squareish headlites....imo, That'll look killer. Or a 2wd 04-05 colormatched...valence too. the 04-05s look quite clean and mean compaired to the 01-03s. The 01-03s imo, look a lil ugly with those weird indentions where a foglight is.

I tore the place upside down and found the '03 Ranger brochure. I've only ever seen a valance like that a few times, but they are out there. I'd love to know what the deal is w/ them, part #, models they came on, etc. My scanner software is having some sort of issue, so I snapped a digital image of it:

Yea...I noticed that in the 03 brochure too....back in 03. Since then, still havn't seen one. Sure it's possible to have it....but it's gotta be super uber duper rare...rarer than an STX bumper. I really think it's a photoshop mess up from the folks who did the imaging for the brochure.

I know for a fact I have seen them on the street, more than once. Rare as hen's teeth, but if you keep your eyes open, you'll see one.

I have a factory chrome 2wd actual Ford chrome bumper and a 2wd valance that came from my truck for sale. I replaced it with a fog light equipped 4x4 bumper and valance earlier this year.

So do they actuall make a specific bumper and valance with fog light holes like that is on tekrsq's truck for trucks without the fender flares? If so how would one know if you were getting that one or a bumper meant for a truck with flares??

I say yes, everyone else says no. I know i've seen trucks w/ them at least twice, maybe more. I always pay attention to the front valance on Rangers, because mine is an XLT w/o fogs, and I wanted the one that went straight back at the sides so I wouldn't have to buy a new bumper as well. As far as how do you know which one you are getting when you order, I have no idea. None of the aftermarket ones w/ fog openings i've seen go straight back. The parts guy at the Ford garage said he knows which one I mean, but I have my doubts.
