got rear ended today while sitting at a stop light. a guy in one of those big*** truck/van hit me, causing me to go into the SUV in front of me. it screwed up his front end pretty bad. damage on mine isn't too bad... damage to the SUV was minimal. just 2 indentations in his rear bumper from my tow hooks. let me just say that these are one tough little trucks. i'm pretty impressed on how well she took it.










oh yea, i am now without a spare tire. it got ripped clean off from the impact and was sitting under the truck/van whatchamacallit...

 

damn sorry for the bad luck. . . hope theres no frame damage and glad your ok, i got hit about a year ago in my 03 ranger Edge, totaled it-bent frame. Im not sure but i think your spare was a 33x12.50 matching your others :)

hopefully everything gets worked out.
get some tips with a rolled edge if they replace everything, magnaflow makes some that are nice.

 

Sucks to see it damaged but at least you are safe and alright.

 

does anyone know if a vehicle can still drive and feel fine even though the frame is bent? or is it pretty noticeable? i'm kinda hoping they total it. now that it's screwed up i don't want it, even though it can be repaired to look like new. i would love to buy a newer, stepside Ranger in black, with a 4.0 in it...

People are so stupid, theres no need for accidents like this the dumba** in the van was probably on his phone or going to fast....Stuff like this is uncalled for and definately un-needed because of someone elses stupidity

that sucks big time. I doubt they'll total it. The body shops will probably just put new(from a junkyard) tailgate and bumper and bumper brakets and call it good. i hate body shops!

yup, thats why they teach you to keep your distance in drivers ed.

no one pays attention, same reason i hate driving with my friends.

 

as far as i know, the guy who rear ended me is paying for everything. he was found at fault without a doubt. he even admitted to it. and i was a good distance away. i learned that in drivers ed that you should be able to see the rear wheels of the car in front of you, if you cant you are too close. but that didnt stop the monster of a vehicle from pushing me into the car in front of me. i have pics of the vehicle that hit me, but i dont know if i should be posting that.

 

oh, well most people don't know that, or don't care.

yea. i was on my way to the San Juan Islands. i was gonna show you guys some Orcas and other cool stuff we have here in Washington. i had this trip planned for like 2 months, and then i couldn't even go... lame.

 

I got rear ended into another vehicle mainly cause the guy hit me so hard I let my foot off the brake pedal. The guy that hit me had to pay for both our vehicles.

 

Hey now, I'm a body man, not all body shops are bad!

And speaking of bumper brackets, I think I took the one's off my rear bumper after the body lift, and my front bumper got damaged front and center (almost dead center) so both the support brackets on that are perfect. You probably don't care if you aren't paying for it, but if anyone else wants/needs them, pay shipping and they're yours. I don't even know if they're worth anything, but I don't need them, so they're going in the scrap pile.

 

dude why didnt you get out and whoop some azz! i would be so pissed off....Maybe its time for me to fab up some bumpers that stick out...

Anyone got some bumpers that stick out a few inches so if rear ended, it would absorb the impact??
