Has anyone done one? I my 33's want to rip those F'ers off and I was just woundering what people have done to alleviate that problem? I know taking them off would be the easiest option but I dont want the little rock chips all over that peice of metal under the doors... Any help is appreciated

 

Well you could make your own. I would get a sheet of rubber or what ever you choose, cut out your squares for the flaps and put them in place of your existing ones, but i would run a wire from the bottom of the flap and screw the other end of the wire under your truck somewhere so it will hang back a little to avoid it getting ripped off.

 

here is what i did.

 

I just unbolted the little support rod (front flaps) on my 2001 model moved the rod back and drilled a new mounting hole for it. It pulled the flaps back enough that there's no more rub.. Look underneath the truck and you'll see what I'm talking about..

GrafixGuy, that is a genious idea!

I personally, dont like the looks of any mudflaps on trucks... Removing them is usually the first mod I do

 

mine just has the caps that cover the holes

 

Local guy with an 04-05ish XL 4x4 has a 4" superlift and 33's....made his own front flaps since alot of 04+ 4x4's don't come with front flaps. He told me he used hard plastic mudflap material from a local store(BiMart) then mounted it to the fender and inner fender. Here's some pics I took...
