popped air bag pass side

i have a 99 Mazda that the air bag is blown. Will this pass and MVI inspection ( Missouri) and or is this difficult/tricky to change if i find an oem or is there an aftermarket product that would work while retaining the cruise control buttons? Thanks

if it's been deployed, you may have to replace part of the computer system for the bags as well, or at minimum have the codes cleared.

What Troy said.
As soon as an Airbag deploys, you need to put in a new module. otherwise the airbag system is off. so that would fail the system right away.
if its in the passenger side, i believe you just unbolt the old bag, and put a new sealed one in.
if its the drivers side, you just need a new Horn pad.

whenever you mess with ANYTHING airbag related, disconnect your battery.

You also need the Airbag module. otherwise you'll always have an airbag light, and if you ever get in another accident, the airbags won't go off

I believe the module has to match that air bag also. Numbers must match.

The module just has to match the previous one. But yea otherwise it won't work either

it's not just a pad. it's the entire airbag assembly. i would probably try finding out from a jy or ebay.
