X2 you really can't judge a trucks price without seeing what it's got. (and how it runs)
it's like a person saying they have a 1969 road runner thats all rusted out and not running, asking $10,000 for it. (LOL) however the same car thats showworthy and fixed up could be worth over $100,000.

Go to www.kbb.com (kelly blue book). You can select the year, model, accessories and condition and mileage and the site will calculate what the trade in value would be, what you should expect to pay if buying privately, or what you will pay a dealer for it. I foind their estimates to be accurate.

The KBB for that truck, using your zip code (62812) is a little over $15,300 SR, and your truck, this estimate is more rough, is worth about $2,000 trade-in in "fair" condition (minor mechanical problems)

Please, I mean you no offence, but a lot of used car lots make ends meet by charging unknowing people outrageous prices. Either way you're getting shafted. Get a printout from KBB and put it to his face, and he will drop down to KBB value rather than lose a sale. I'd get a mechanic friend to come loo kit over for you, too, just to be safe.

Seems high to me IMO.

In 2003 I bought a 2001 Ranger 4wd Ext cab 4.0 XLT (flairside bed) with 24,000 miles. Then the high book was $18,500. I paid $11,700.

Shop around there are some steals out there.
