Pricing help

Im looking at a 1987 ranger 4x4 manual trannylongbed single cab with a brand new 2.3l. The body and interior are in great condition and the body has 74k miles on it. Its been in washington its whole life. It has a new clutch and water pump as well. The ac and heat work along with the radio. They are asking 5300 for it bu i was thinking it would be closer to 4k. I dont know much about rangers and i was wonder what people thought a good price would be

Well I went to Kelly Blue Book and for a 1992 (Wouldn't go older) matching everything you put its only 1200-1900 in price... So, food for thought. They may of fixed a few things, but its not a dime over 3k, that's for sure. Hope this helps.

No problem. If paint is great and interior is like new.. maybe 1k more. But either way, KBB for Spokane, WA (random WA city) that's the value returned.

1987 Vehicle is 34 years old, miles don't matter at that point

Rangers are not "collector cars" never will be

That pricing is for "collector car", for a specific buyer that wants a "restored" older vehicle, not a daily driver

A running pick up truck rarely falls below $800
Working 4x4 adds $500

Look on local craigslist for Rangers or Mazda B-series in the $4,000-$6,000 price range
See what the completion is in that price range

Supply and demand. A seller can ask what they want for what they have. Its up to the buyer if they are willing to pay the price. Prices go up/down depending on the time of year as well.

Just remember the seller thinks their stuff is gold. The buyer thinks their stuff is tin.

PNW prices are ranging from 1500 to 6k right now for Rangers.
