I found an '08 black rear bumper that I want to use to replace my '04 chrome bumper. Will that work? Would a '96 work?

Here's the bumper I want to use to replace my '04 XLT bumper.

 

Either one should work. I could be wrong on the 08' I know the beds went from 6 bolts to 8 in 2006, not sure if bumper changed any? Only real difference would be stepside and fleetside beds do have different bumpers.

 

You should be fine with that. I do see some rust on the bumper you want to buy though and that's not a good sign, Ranger rear bumpers are prone to rusting out from the inside and if this one looks that way already I'd skip it myself.
