Question for you pre-runner sand guys
I was just wondering if you guys air down before you go play in the sand ? How much air do you air down to ? I don't have much sand near me besides a beach a few beachs I can drive out on. If I do some beach wheeling any advise ? This is for a non-dune area pretty much a flat beach.
the rule of thumb for airing down if you arent sure about how your tires wll perform is going about 50% of your driving air pressure. After you do that a few time, you can get a better feel of what you think is necessary.
On the rocks, I usually air down to about 15 because I have to drive somewhere to get air after the trail so remember, not too low unless you have air...

well as long as your not runnin like ten psi or lower, your tires should be fine. just fill up as SOON as possible. You can easily get a heat ring and your tires will be no good. If its like a mile to a compressor then your straight, if its miles and miles, better keep it around 20 at least.

normal for me is about 30 front and rear, I am thinking 15 is a good place to start I guess. I am running a 12.5 inch wide tire on a 8 inch wide wheel so that is sopose to help keep me from losing a bead.
why ? What could happen ?
