My brother has a 2003 ford ranger 4.0. His bed is rotting in the front to the point to where he needs to replace his entire bed. Can he get any ranger bed that is in good condition? or does he need one from a certain year period say 98-2005?

 

Any bed from 93-present. I'm guessing he has a 6 foot bed so make sure he gets that and not a long bed. But it doesn't matter if its stepside or fleetside.

 

If he wants to reuse his filler neck it will make a difference

 

I never changed mine when I did the bed swap.

 

I always thought they were a different length

Steppie to Styleside are different fillers.

And while you have it apart check out the breather built in the filler and check for cracking along the filler neck.
