It won't start on me a few times but started up each time after a few attempts. I believe it to be the fuel pump going bad. I replaced the filter just in case. I don'y believe it to be electrical as it was tuned up 20k miles ago with new wires and plugs and throttle body cleaned.
After it dies I wait a minute and I turn the key and it tries to start but then it won't so I turn off the key. I will do this until it finally starts, usually 3 to 5 times until it starts. It does not just stop on me...It only does this after I shut the engine off and has not just died on me.
Am I on the right track?
Thanks!!

Each time the ignition is cycled, the fuel pump is ran for two seconds. Having to do it this many times could indicate you have a fuel pressure leak (or failing pump), if it is indeed the fuel pump.
Grab a fuel pressure gauge or have a shop take a look. I don't know what the number should be, but look at how it behaves. The pressure should not leak down at all. It should also continue to climb every time the ignition is cycled until it hits the proper pressure, and stays.
