I have a question about '02-'03 Rangers

On black trucks, do the gray plastic coverings come off that are over top of the wheels on some Rangers?

I think they are ugly and all but only a few have them.

The fender flares? Yes, but you will have holes.

 

Yes they come off but they leave holes. Only the edge models and 4x4 xlts have them

 

mine is a XLT 4X4...

and I don't have the fender flares...

 

Ok the exception is the flareside, they have no flares......sorry Will, I knew better

 

Yeah my truck has the gray plastic fender flares and I wasnt a big fan of them when I first bought my truck. They have kinda grown on me I guess. But I did just post a topic in the Exterior forum asking how you can paint them the color of your truck. If you dont like the plastic look, you could do this. Check it out...

Go to a body shop and have them sand it down to no texture (if there was any) and get them painted black.

 

i like my fender flares.

 

i do too... i think it makes the truck look bigger

 

I'd put fender flares on my 99 if i only had the matching front bumper/valance with it. It looks better 'flowed' into the bumper.

 

i agree with mr. gator. the flares make the truck look bigger and just set off any aggressive looking tire set in there. i dont think my tires and truck would look all that great without them.
