Ranger Stuff

Is it just me or are there NO good aftermarket parts for Rangers. I'm talkin hoods, kits, tailights, etc. It seems eveything is for an S-10 or Tacoma. I was flipping through my Truckin' Mag today and out of the 250+ pages i saw 1 Ranger....

That's not the point i was making...I'm not talkin body kits and stuff like that; if that's what people thing when responding then that's not the point.

Everything from ram air hoods to bumpers to quality headlights and tailights are made more for S-10s, Tacomas, and Nissans in our class. Bigger trucks (F-150's, Silverado's, etc) have more aftermarket options than our trucks. I want good street parts for my truck. Offroading to me is a waste of time because that's just something extra to have to clean off.

Flip though a truckin mag and you'll see what i'm talkin about. I have to search for parts for my truck and when i find them everyone else has them which sucks after looking for 3 hours.

BTW: If i wanted rice (which can look just as good depending on taste and just as fast depending on parts availiable) i would've kept my S-10.

the ranger does have good parts, you just gotta look and search harder... unlike the f150, where u can get parts for those trucks anywhere

I hear ya Justin. There are parts, and someone else will have them. Just keep doing what you like and think looks good and you will be fine.

Where i go off-road you don't really get dirty. I hate mud.

Ya just have to remember. The s-10 and 'yota's as far back as i can remember are all exactly the same. And the rangers just changed body style's in 01. now in 04 they changed the grille and hood again. So you have to give the aftermarket time to adjust to the changes.

Also if you want it to stand out and be that much more original. Have the peices you want custom made so that you don't have "another" production 'glass cowl hood.

Compared to other vehicles that have been around as long as the Ranger and have sold about as many vehicles as the Ranger over the years, and in fact compared to many vehicles that haven't, the aftermarket for the Rangers is extremely limited. I find it completely mystifying. What galls me is the lack of aftermarket items for performance parts for the interior of the 3.0 Vulcan engine. For some parts, no one makes them and for others there's only one company, as far as I can see, which means high prices because there's no competition. Its the same for most bolt-ons. Only one company makes headers, and their price for them is outrageous. I know of no company that makes an intake manifold. You can't say that the demand is not there in view of the numbers of Rangers with the 3.0 Vulcan.

With the new 05 v6 stangs out, won't there be more engine aftermarket for the 01+ SOHC 4.0 rangers?
