Any pics under the hood?

That would be the easiest way for us to tell.

I believe it should say on a sticker on the very front on top of the core support piece. The 4.0 I have says it right on a piece of plastic on top of the engine.

If it's a 4.0 it will be clearly marked on top of engine, in large numbers. (stamped in black on the black plastic cover over the intake)

That's not a 3.0.

Is it a v6 or an 4cyl.?

How long have you owned this truck?

Register your truck on fords site it gives ya all the info on it plus any recalls and if anyone is financed thru ford you get to deal with your loan thru it.

You wrong the only stupid question is the one unasked.

Not everyone is a car/truck person. Most people don't even know how to change their own oil. Asking here is much less intimidating than having someone ask you what's under the hood, then you returning a blank stare.
This is/was a valid question.

For sure, I know some things about trucks/cars but i honestly wasn't sure about this one.. guess it wasn't really a stupid question I wasn't sure so I asked.. nothing wrong with that.

Dont feel bad, just about everybody I ask about their motor seems to only know if its a 4cyl., v6, or v8 and never know anything else about it.

i want to see pics of this, because my 99 has the same looking throttle body cover and engine as him. i dont see why they would mix it up in 2000, unless someone swapped your engine
