rear ended...56 k no way

well i woke up this morning to my roomate beating down my door.
in short, a girl had been going about 35 and wasnt looking and hit
my parked truck. messed up the rear pretty bad and ill post pics
as soon as i can get them up, but before i take and get it all fixed,
I was wonderin if there are any sweet rear bumpers i can get on the
insurance company's dime that anyone knows of? I really want to
try to find a new one, since it would be very low cost. (Ins is footing
the bill). ill get pics up later.

well if i was you, i would prolly get a sweet rear bumper, like a solid steel one black with some shackles on it and then have a hitch welded on there.. and it would look sweet...

and i suppose ill jump on the band waggon, post some pictures...

Someone appaerantly slid into my ranger before I bought it (used) with a crown vic or something on the ice. The car was sitting stationary and the old bumper (they replaced it) is twisted like if you took someting like a pole in bothc your hands and twisted opposite ways. I think the frame is fine but oh well. Sorry to ehar that, roll pan? I don't like them for offroading style trucks (and I hear up here you can get ticketed for them) but they look alright on lowered trucks and stuff.

That actually sounds very terrible because that would require the car hitting your truck at an angle. So there's a risk your frame was tweaked. Always look up your vehicle history before ya buy, and think before ya buy a vehicle in a car crash like that. Then again, it could been some different type of accident that didn't hurt the frame.

so figure out what a stock one costs then decide if you want to front any more money and go around and tell them i have this much to spend what can we do. that would be the best way to do it.

Since your truck is a 2000, they will only pay for a refurbished bumper, not a new one.

Just take the truck to the shop of your choice, since her insurance is paying for it, you can take it where you want. Talk to the shop and work out a deal. thats what i did for my front bumper when that Diesel backed into my truck.

i'm an insurance agent. i insure my truck. i know the insurance law.
the adjuster will give a number and whatever my mechanic can fit
inside that number, her insurance co will pay for, anything else and
we have to get ahold of the adjuster and get him to tweak the number,
or pay for it out of pocket. 3906brad, that might have been the case with
your company, but not mine. i'm not getting a rollpan, i dont think that would
be very fitting to my truck. i was thinking more like this. something to
match with the duff front. i just see this as a nice start to fix up the rear end
how i want it. new shocks all around cause the exhaust pipe crushed one on
the rear axle. she did hit it kinda at an angle, cause she was in the middle of
the road and drifted to the right when she spilled her bottle of water.
im going to try to get pics up tonite if comp would not keep crapping out.

Ok well the roll pan was just a thought, that other bumper you have posted is pretty nice. It will go well with the front.
