Rear glass swap

I am wanting to switch from a slider to solid rear glass, besides the gasket, adhesive, and glass; what else would I need? Thanks for the help.

That should just about do it. I swapped my sons for a slider and it was actually pretty easy and straight forward. I did heat up the adhesive a bit once it was on the new window so it would pull in nice and easy.

Year differential...

Will the rear glass from a 93-97 swap over to a 98-00? Thanks.

Don't know but when I swapped to a Split Slider it was the best thing I have don't for ventilation in the Std Cab, and I assume... it would be a good thing for any Ranger Cab.

If you don't want air coming in... don't open it but if you happen to want air WHAM-BAM open it up.

Are you after a LOOK more than utility ?

Is it something a person can do at home? (ie swap from solid to slider). My 2001 standard cab has a solid and id love to be able to open it up for ventilation. Is it pretty easy to remove one from a junkyard truck without damaging the seal?

What's easy to one person isn't to another, but yes, it shouldn't be very difficult.

My '03 EDGE Rear Window was a solid piece that unbolted.
The gasket had to be fit but wasn't anything that should cause a problem.

If you are getting the Slider from a JY, watch carefully as you remove it and then again as you take your Solid glass out.
Go slow and be careful not to apply too much pressure in the middle, stick to the edges.

Reverse the procure to install.

I don't like the single slider, it slides from the driver's side and let too much air blow in on the driver.
The Split version, the slider slides both ways from the middle in two pieces, it is a great window, open the passenger side for venting and the driver's side for cooling yourself off.

The other benefit of the Slider, is that the you open the side windows the amount of air coming in is too much but with the side windows open nd the Slider open there is not major force of air coming the side windows. I usually drive with the passenger side of the Split Slide open all the time.
