Both engines were available, but you could only get the auto with the 4.0L.

It depends on the year. Up until '01, yes they did. Now only the Edge comes with 4WD in regular form and only with the 3.0, but that is soon to change. In '05 Ford will reintroduce the regular cab XLT 4x4 and I would be willing to bet the 4.0 will be an option since a 7' bed will be available on the 4WD XLT regular cabs. As for a manual, who knows. It is possible. Ford offers a manual with 4.0 Super Cab 4WDs, so it could show up in '05 regular cabs.

BTW - there are special order fleet trucks out there that are '01 and newer that are in XL trim with 4WD and a regular cab/long bed configuration, but they are fleet trucks and the only way I know of to get one is to order a bunch or find a used one.

it was rare the same as my truck, they did make a FEW 4x4 reg cab 4.0 sticks and autos, there was one on ebay not too long ago, it was black and an 01. They stopped making the 4.0 reg cab in 01 as only a few people such as myself and edgerat33 and 2 others on RPS have them.

But for some reason it looked funny, and I measured the bed, and it was 1 foot longer. :?:

Yeah you used to be able to get the Ranger in a reg. Cab 4x4 w/ the 7' bed.. I had an XLT 4x4 reg. cab long bed in.. I want to say.. the 96 or 97 model year. It was a 4.0LOHV with an automatic.

You'd have to Strattle the shifter..... what would people think If they could see you shifting.....

hey Skot, why not an old BroncoII ? and take off the back? pretty much the wheel base of a jeep and you can prolly find one with a 302 swap already done or do it yourself. just an idea.

Skot just some little info for ya, GO over to Canada, you can still buy a reg cab 4.0L 4x4, with even a flareside box. I think when i get a new truck thats what am going to do. I'll just change out the instrument panel when i bring it back. Thats just to nice of a truck.
