Remove Radio Antenna?

I was wondering how to take out the antenna and it's base. I've searched on here and haven't found anything. Does anyone know how to take the base off?

Yeah, I took off the inner fender well thinking I would be able to get at it from there but I was wrong.

Honestly..i think the main cap sorta just snaps on the base, then there's probably cavity nuts and screws holding the base base to the cowl. I know i've seen them taken apart at the junkyards before.

That worked! You just have to take a flat-head screwdriver and snap the top half off and there are I think 3 Phillips head screws under there.

It somehow got loose over the last week or so and the rattling pissed me off so I tried to screw it back in and accidentally over-tightened it and the threaded part at the bottom of the antenna broke off in the base.

I'm sure it does because I never use my antenna, but I get great reception when I listen to the radio.

I like having a stock length antenna. There are a lot of parking garages that are really low around here (some have pipes that hang below what it says the clearance is) so I use my antenna to gauge weather or not I will be able to make it without risking my roof hitting. My roof isn't even that high either. Plus I have a black stock antenna, I found someone with a beater XL Ranger work truck and traded antennas and taillights (my truck is on 02, other is an 06+).

I tried those kinda wiper blades and they sucked big time, I literally took them back after going thru the car wash, but this was just my personal experience.

My best luck was to stick with TRIPLE EDGE,

you guys whining about your stock antenna crack me up...

i've got a 4ft fiberglass antenna mounted in about the same position as the stocker. I sometimes run a 102" whip too...
