will the same floor jacks work?
Yep!!
I use my floor jack and a chunk of 4x4 to lift my truck up, then support it with jack stands. If I ever get a flat on the road though, I'm screwed. The on board factory jack is a POS and doesn't even come close to anything when fully extended.

bump for what?
i carry a 3 ton jack in both of my trucks and several pieces of 4x4 wood incase i cant reach the desired lifting point...which isnt outta the realm of possibility on my 88 F-350.
at first i thought u meant a regular bumper jack using for lifting buses. hell that would work great just make u use the frame rails.

just get a rail jack, we have one at work to jack up the equipment we build, its like 16" tall and jacks up another 16" so we can get about 32" out of it using the bottom toe, it looks simalr to this one but has a hook type thing on the bottom attached to the ram and a little bigger in diameter

you got your answer...your answer is no, and beyond that, you recieve ideas on what to use to jack the truck up....what else do you want other than to always keep your thread at the top of the active posts???
They are more curious why you bumped a thread that already had an answer to all the questions asked.
