According to this months motortrend, ford has a new midsize suv crossover being build on the CD3 platform. Reported that ford insiders say it will be released as a 2007 model and called the EDGE. say it ain't so

That throws my theory that all new fords were gonna start with the letter f like fusion, five hundred, freestyle
And mercury with m like montego, mariner, mountaneer, milan

There aint nothing wrong with SUVS...They are GREAT...thats all my family drives...who cares if they suck gas and are big...thats the type we like...And it really dosent look that bad...Ford as some other concpets that are supposed to be coming out that are way worse than that...and chevy has a couple different body styles for all there 07 vechicles...Just becasue it is called Edge dosent mean anything anymore...as ford is concerned there is NO more edge for the 06's plus cause the edge name on the 06 rangers have been replaced to XLT sport so there is no more edge except for the ones of us that have 05's and under...I like it...u wont see me buying one, but its gonna compete with a more city like escape...just like the free style is a more economical explorer...there just trying to find ways to make money...kinda like chevys new HHR witch looks like a terd...so all brands have there down falls...y u gonna cuss ford cause of one vechilce that you will never drive??? Just my opinon

my guess is YES itll replace the freestyle. i read in a magazine this past week (not sure which, possibly truck trend?) that even though the freestyle is getting axed, the moniker will be placed on another new vehicle.

Im willing to bet this so called "edge" will be produced with the freestyle nametag

 

It doesn't look so bad. Not what I'd buy, but I can see it's appeal.

I may have to remove my Edge stickers also, lol.

And it is named with a "F" -- they're actually calling it the FDGE (pronounced "Fudge") and the EDGE was a misprint...
