misfire problem

alrite i have a 89 ranger with a 2.3 four cylinder.one day i went to the store and the truck ran perfect there.when i came out and got into the truck and started her up it had a pretty bad misfire.later on i found it was a bad coil.i then replaced it.while i was there i also replaced the plugs (autolite) and the wires too. now the truck runs alot better but still a spit and sputter when i get into the pedal. i dont have any c.e.l. and the thing smells like a snowmobile when running. if any one has a thought or suggestion it would b greatly appreciated. thanx!!
