F150, Ranger, or ST?

i want a 4x4 and i plan on getting one soon. but i'm torn between these 3 trucks. i want a ranger cuz i know enought about them to work on it myself and they stand out when they r lifted then a full size truck. i like the F150 cuz i can actually fit more then 2 ppl comfortably and if i have a kid later the baby seat can go safely on the back. the ST its the 3rd opt but not so crazy about. i like it cuz its like a crew cab on a ranger engin. of couse if freakin FORD made the ranger 4dr crew cab i would not be making this thread. i plan on putting the dixon bros lt kit on the truck i buy so help me out. i didnt think it would be so hard. its either a 2001-2010 ranger. 98-03 f150( best style imo). and 98-04 ST.

Fiddy, for possible baby in future. You already have a Ranger. Don't need two.

F the family, sell the ranger when the time comes.

IMO get a ranger or a ST. Throw a long travel on teh ST and that will be unique. Can't you get some of the ST's with a V8?

I say get the ranger or the st, but thats because im bias. However the 150 would give more room and payload capacity. If you want a vehicle to play with and have as a dd I say get the ranger and buy an 150 later down the road

lol! untill i have a family i'll be ok. v8 st with a dbr would be unige but a ranger would look better. screw the u.s. for not selling the 4d ranger crewcab

A ranger is definitely not a family car in the least - you can fit 2, maybe 3 people depending on hwo big they all are - the extended cab is crap for holding people, and you cant put a baby seat anywhere but the front passenger seat - takes away all the seatign so its only you and the baby.

Go for the F-150 or the SportTrac.. those are the best bets for a future vehicle - the 150 gets the same mileage as a 4x4 4.0 ranger by the way

I've had all three. And while I loved the sport trac, I love the F150 more. More power, more room, similar mileage.
If you're financing, the older style F150's might be out of the question due to age.

I agree! I really want a ranger but when I start a family I wouldn't be able to take them offroad untill theygrow out of a baby seat. A fixed ranger stands out more then any full size truck IMO

Nothing much new, since I put on the 'old man' canopy on

I'll post a picture of the sport trac and F150 for you to think about. I really liked the sport trac AFTER it was lifted, geared, locked, etc etc. Stock it was, meh...

More here.

I have a lot of other pictures but don't want to ***** the thread.
Honestly I kick myself some days for getting rid of the sport trac. What I liked most is that I never saw another lifted sport trac while I was driving mine, and surprising jeep drivers way up in the mountains. I see lifted and leveled F150s everywhere. But on the other hand, the F150 drives SO much better, and is much more comfortable. I would have kept the sport trac most likely if I still lived in Oregon and could hit the trails more.

I bought the sport trac also partially because I was comfortable with rangers and explorers. Engine, drive train, axles, etc. A lifted sport trac stands out more than a ranger, imo. Plus the dixon bros kit ought to work on it, and there is fiberglass out there for them too.

Every time I look at the sport trac I get sad still, lol.
When I put it all together I lived only a few miles from work, and close to lots of wheeling. Now I have a 40 minute drive to work, and no wheeling anywhere close. Didn't make as much sense driving a very low geared, locked front and rear sport trac as much any more.
