(clarification: in the 4.0L OHV days you could get reg. cabs with the 4.0L and a stick, at least in the 7' bed configuration. I had one of those, a 1997 model year.)

What it boils down to is that its possible for me to swap motors later, but I can't go back and get the difference in price back that I'd have paid extra to get a supercab I didn't want just to get the 4.0L.
It's an off/on thing. Regular cab 4.0s are back for '05, but only in 4WD trucks. Ford is bringing back lots of old models from previous years like regular cab XL and XLT 4WDs (with the long bed as an option).

I got a regular cab because I liked the way it looked. There isn't a ton of room, but it's enough. I'm not a tall person and most of what I carry can go in the bed.

Yeah now that I think about it if I had a supercab you wouldn't be able to walk past my truck in the garage, it'd be right up against the wall.

yeah, that is a bad problem, in my garage i had to do the ghetto mod...i tied a tennis ball to some string and tied it to the ceiling, so when i pull it and see the ball move, i know to stop, otherwise i'll take out the wall.

i think the single cabs look awesome slammed, but x cabs lifted...i especially like Jareds edge (from gen edge...i dunno if hes a member here) his truck is sweet IMO.

but yeah, my town is starting to get on the ball with rangers, i need to fab up some bussiness cards for this site or something, i dunno. we got a red tremor with a total rockford system, a 2000-ish black ranger slammed on 20's with 2 15's, one purple edge thats bagged....i'm just glad that rangers are tellin the ***** s-10's to move the **** over....i call s10's *****'s because in my town, an s10 is like a *****, every guy in town has one...and some girls do too...

Yes, in fact ford just re-introduced the reg. cab 7' combo for 05. Its been absent from the lineup since around 99.
