so after 2 weeks of owning the chevy

I have to say i love it. The things a beast when you get on the gas. Oh and she lasted 4 days modless. then i took out the air silencer. The thing that irks me/makes me smile is that it gets the same mpgs as the ranger on 31's about 17ish. I miss the limited slip the ranger had. Its cool though being next to someone on a road with some salt dust on it going about 30-35 and punching it and them being baffled how you are doing a burnout. I miss the ranger alot but this truck is kinda making up for it. time to get her cleaned up and a nice aviatar made. sorry for the babbling

I have had My '05 Colorado ZQ8 for a week now and I love it too. I was always against an ext. cab, but glad i bought one now. the I5 is a great motor. Lots of power and gas milage like an I4.

Anyways, Chevy stuff is pretty nice. WOuld like to see what Ford could do with a midsize truck.

Yup...them trucks are nice. I've been lookin at a '02 2500HD w/ the 6.0L my neighbor has that he's thinking about getting rid of....that things a beast. Plus, it's nice to have a bigger truck and a long box is helpful.

Yup.....kinda sucks. My ranger is currently getting 12.6mpg(bad plugs, needs slight tune up)....our '98 Lincoln Continental w/ 260hp 4.6L dohc v8 gets 22 city, and like 27-30 mpg on the freeways. fast awesome car that beats Mustang GTs, stock ones, not the '05+ ones.

My chevy will spin them at 60 w/o the juice :)

I really need to stop by and check out those trucks. Have you guys tried towing anything with the Colorado yet?

i used to live in utah...and my neibor was a EDGE PRODUCTS worker...and OMG...his truck was so awesome. 6" lift on 17" nitto's w/ 36's. ECSB chevy 2500 duramax. He took me for a ride one day...all I had to say was wow. Tires spin at about 30 still. And thats on 36's. I have the pics of his truck somewhere...i'll try and dig em up

oh yea...and his truck was HEAVILY modded...so don't think a stock chevy duramax can spin tires at 30. He definetly had i/e/h (turbo back) and the edge chip w/ lcd. He was definetly on the highest tune too.

Yea it is kid of sad that the fullsize gets about the same milage. I just picked up a 2006 Z71 and it is suspose to get 19 on the freeeway. I barely got over that with the ranger and my blazer use to get 20.

damn...i dunno what full size you guys are running...but my pops has a 03 z71 w/ the 5300 series engine (5.3L V8) and he has flows with k and n intake and a hypertech tuner on the 87 tune and he averages 13.4. It has that little thing in the guage cluster. He doesnt drive it hard at all. About 40 percent hwy driving. He's rolling stock tires right now...he used to have 32's..they wore out and i changed him back to stockers for the gas milage and a few other reasons.

that milage is with the STOCK tires..with the 32's and the hypertech speedo fix it was getting like 14.1

i dunno whats up with it. it's got 20k miles on it, been fully serviced already, oil changed, tires filled..everything. I work on his truck all the time for him

and also I have a friend with a suburban w/ the same engine that gets 13.2 average. He drives about 60 percent hwy. Kind of strange...

WHat's always bothered me is how some of you guys get such bad gas mileage. I got a steady 18 when my truck was stock. The air intake and the flowmaster exhaust I get 21. Granted if I put my foot in it constantly it gets less, but that's true with anything. My Cadillac gets 8 mpg no matter how you drive it. When I was in college, I had an 01 4x4 off-road with 245/75r16's and 4:10 gears I got the same gas mileage as my level II. Everyone told me they were getting like 15 with their Identical trucks. I didn't know what to tell them. I got 7mpg once towing three snowmobiles in an enclose trailer with a strong head wind, that sucked. but that was the only time I can remember complaining about it. If you want 40 MPG get a Yugo!
