solid or vented roters?
Drilled rotors are pointless...slotted is where its at.
EBC pads create crazy dust. Well any performance pad for that matter. I can only keep my front wheels clean for a day or two.
All you really need is an el cheapo slotted rotor with some decent pads and you will be ok.

Then that would be the slotted kicking in. If you noticed, I said slooted are a performance rotor and would give better braking.
I used to race autocross and have tried every brake combo on my mk3 possible.
Stock calipers with;
A: hawk pads. pepboys performance rotors.. not a bad combo.
b: cheap slotted/cross drilled rotors and ebc green stuff. ehh bout hawk level.
c: mintex redbox and stock rotors. better then both. TONS of dust.
(changed to SS lines here)
d: ebc yellows with stock rotors. Better, less dust.
e: hawk pads, slotted only rotors. Best combo, light dust nice grip.
f: brembo 12.3" big brake kit. cream my pants I can stop on a dime.

I am surprised you didn't run into problems. Every MKIII that has run with us at the AutoX has BHG'd or rod knock'd haha.
Maybe the 6 banger ones.
The 2.0's are damn hard to kill.
Or, I just know how to drive. lol
But seriously, I did run into a few problems. Mostly small things. Caliper seizing, blown tire, shocks, things of that nature.

The Ultimax pads are a little better than stock but I'd go with the green stuff 6000 or 7000(suv/4wd pad) next time. Green Stuff
I bought everything from: http://perfectbrakes.com/

Green 7000 is NOT an upgrade pad in stopping power, it is just a low dust pad
yep, i have em and love them. dust is low for a performance pad and they stop in a hurry and are quiet. i put some powerstop slotted rotors on at the same time. $180 for everything. i looked at the EBC first, but i thought they were a bit pricey

my dub was going porcelin then I sold her.
