The thing is if you're using a switch in the cab, you still have to at least pull power from the cab back to the bed, so you might as well start under the hood and put a switch wherever you want it. The only way to avoid running a power wire would be to tie it into the taillight circuit, but then you would have to leave your headlights on to use the bedlights...

Yea I'll put one together eventually....things have been REALLY busy lately. New job, girlfriend bought a house. All kinds of crap lately.
Thanks man, and no I don't think I have skid plates because mine is 2wd. If the skid plates were discontinued for 2011 but were available on older trucks, you should be able to get the part number and order them I would think. If you can find them they would certainly mount up fine.

Here is a step by step of how i did mine. Its very easy, just tedious.

(foam blocks are covering Tonneau mounts so they dont scratch cargo) The lights are secured up into the bed liner itself with fasteners and stainless hardware.
Battery is protected from drain by tying them into the dome light circuit.
To keep them on past the regular dome light time out either turn on the parking lights or leave the key in ACC.
Having them is a huge convenience, esp with the tonneau cover.
