Something's wrong, but not sure what.

Today while sitting at red lights and stop signs, my truck started feeling like it was jerking forward... slightly, but enough to wonder what was going on. I haven't had any problems, so I'm not sure what's wrong. Any ideas?

Next time it does that, put the heater control in the OFF position, to see if it stops.

If it stops doing it, it is NORMAL operation; your air conditioner compressor is engaging, which makes the computer compensate for that extra load by increasing the engine speed.

Thanks I'll try that. It seems to be running fine today.

It's a 2001 Ranger Edge 4x4 with a 4.0. I have almost 75,000 miles on it.
